The Equity and Innovation Resource Hub is part of AcademyHealth’s work to promote diversity and representation in the research workforce and to drive transformation to a high-impact, equitable health services research field.

Overview

AcademyHealth’s inter-related diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and science innovation activities aim to drive change in systems and policies, organizational culture, and individuals.

 

In order to promote scientific innovation and enhance the impact of health services research (HSR), it is necessary to broaden our perspectives about who leads and participates in the research enterprise and to actively strengthen the representation of an expanded array of identities, perspectives, and lived experiences. We also believe that innovation in research culture and methods is essential to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and representation in the field.

This Resource Hub is a searchable repository of tools, templates, literature, and other materials used in or emerging from AcademyHealth’s ongoing DEI and science innovation work, notably from the Paradigm Project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation between 2018-2021.   Consistent with recommendations from our DEI Advisory Group, the July 2021 anti-racism methods workshop, and Paradigm Project community, AcademyHealth has curated an initial set of resources to highlight successful innovations, best practices, and proven methods for changing organizational culture to promote representation and scientific innovation.
